First we got two produced by Madlib: “Gangsta Rap” featuring Blu & Fatlip(!) has the LA legends from two generations reminiscing about the sub-genre that put their city on the map. After that its Fly Anakin who shows out for 90sec on “No Dough”
I’m generally open that Earl ain’t really my thing, but the new album is cool. Sidenote: I have a ticket to the show on Tuesday and not sure if Imma go or not? Its Earl, Bronson, & Boldy, and it was expensive, so??? IDK, be safe tho.
Guitar driven music admittedly doesn’t get a lot of play round here, but this Hawak album caught my ear from a recent “Best of” list. Might be figuring out that I like screamo? lolwut?
Sometimes I think the one of the the things that kept songs from 1176 off these playlists is that the album was such a complete project that didn’t cause a song or two to jump out - they were all fucking excellent. With this LL flip, Guapdad has a single-ass-single, and a helpful reminder that his bars aren’t in question.
