Playlists #179, #180, & #181

Back again after another long layoff. Its like these blogs are gonna be a monthly thing or something. Oh well, on to the playlists!

The first one up is #179 and that starts with "Papas" off of the new CRIMEAPPLE and DJ Muggs album Cartagena. CRIME does his thing on this one, I especially like all the chip references in the second verse.

I went on a backpacking trip while constructing this playlist and so wanted to include this Kev Brown and LMNO song about camping. Its not on Spotify, but go find it somewhere else.

Westside Gunn teams up with Jay Worthy and Larry June for a banger off of HHH8: Side B. The results are as to be expected.

This tweet was going around showing ALC creating the beats to one of my favorite songs of theirs. Really cool to see a classic get made like that.

Final track on #179 is this 42 Dugg song. IDK why but it got stuck in my head for a couple days. I fuck with Dugg, his voice is well suited for his style.

Moving on to Playlist #180, and we start with When We Move from the new Common tape. Enlisting the help of Black Thought & Seun Kuti, he delivers a buyout jam makes you wanna dance.

Apparently this kid T.Y. is the son of BG? Shows off his bloodlines on this one.

Another one off the new CRIME and Muggs, this one featuring Stove God. Listen to more Stove God.

Murs is one of my all time favs, and he came up in conversation so I had to throw on the album and add a track to the playlist.

And wrapping up this one is Cam'ron. Had a ticket to the Cam show that was scheduled for April 2020. Was finally cancelled this week, which is surprising considering the venue closed like a year ago. Would have had a bunch of fun at that one, too bad.

On to the final playlist of this blog, #181. Cordae starts off with "Super", a braggadocios and aggressive song that has him using Jack Dorsey & Coca Cola connections as a flex.

Got Boldy James tickets this week and excited to go to their upcoming show. Bo Jackson is one of the best albums of the year.

Next up is Westside Gunn with Stove God. As mentioned, LISTEN TO MORE STOVE GOD!

Finally we got MAVI on the Tony Seltzer tape. Been hearing some MAVI songs and wanted to listen to more, and low and behold, he has a song on Hey Tony, an album that keeps popping up in front of me.

That’s if for now, enjoy the music and we'll be back soon with more.
